Beyond BBC Radio 1, Katie can also be seen regularly on TV and is part of the BBC One’s Morning Live family, co-hosting in the studio, as well as films and live spots from across the country. As an experienced entertainment presenter and a self-confessed 'professional talker' who never fails to fill airtime, she is considered is a safe and fun pair of hands in a live TV and radio environment.
Katie is passionate about using her honest, relatable presenting style to make lifestyle content and documentaries about young people's issues, She has presented documentaries for the BBC on a variety of subjects, including the Manchester bombings, body image and mental health.
Katie has also presented films for The One Show and appeared as a live studio presenter on The Martin Lewis Money Show for ITV. She was also the main presenter of the BBC’s educational programme, Bitesize Daily, during the pandemic.
As an open book about her own journey with her mental health, she is an ambassador for charities YoungMinds and Place2Be alongside the Princess of Wales. Katie has recently become a trained counsellor and completed a year-long work placement with the NHS. Katie has appeared on both Morning Live and This Morning as an expert offering advice.
Building on her ‘agony aunt’ experience, Katie’s debut book 'Dear Katie: Real Problems, Real Advice' was released in February 2018 and offers warm yet honest advice on the multitude of struggles the UK’s children are facing. As a qualified journalist and keen writer, she has also written for Psychologies Magazine about issues regularly faced by twenty-somethings.
Katie began her career in Children’s TV. After working as a Researcher for CBeebies, she made the leap in front of the camera at the start of 2013 after being headhunted to join the CBBC HQ line-up.
Katie hosted CBBC’s live continuity for over six years, claiming the title of the longest running presenter to occupy that role, before leaving to concentrate on her work at Radio 1.
A firm favourite along that now adult audience, Katie DJs regularly at live events and festivals with ex co-presenter ‘Hacker the Dog’.
Katie has worked with McDonalds, Garnier Nutrisse, UCAS, Meta, Nina Foodi and Natural Cycles.
